Sam Cervantes

Solidoodle
A former aerospace engineer, Sam Cervantes shifted his focus from developing jet engines to developing products for the nascent desktop 3D printer industry. Building on his experience designing and leading at several 3D printer companies, Sam founded Solidoodle in late 2011 in his Brooklyn apartment to make 3D printers more accessible for the consumer market. In spring 2012, Sam made news by offering a fully assembled 3D printer starting at $499.  Since then, Solidoodle has shipped over 10,000 3D printers to users in over 60 countries. Sam continues to develop new products and resources with his team of 40 employees (and growing) at their Carroll Gardens location to make 3D printing even more accessible for consumers. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and an MBA from Ohio State University. When not focused on developing consumer technology, Sam enjoys mountain- and ice-climbing throughout the United States.
