Mario is the co-CEO and co-founder of Oscar Insurance Corporation in New York. Previously, he co-founded the largest social games company in Latin America, where he led the company's analytics and game design practices. He started the company while a student at Harvard Business School. Previously, he developed analytical trading models as a senior investment associate in the core investment team at Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund. Before that, he worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company in Europe, the US and Brazil. He was a visiting researcher in Stanford University's computer science department where he developed algorithms for information dissemination in dynamic networks. He is the author of 10 computer science publications. His publications include one of the most-cited computer science papers published in the past decade, in which he developed an algorithm to securely compute trust in randomized networks. Mario holds a degree in computer science with highest distinction from the University of Hannover in Germany and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
