Alex Douzet

Alexandre Douzet is the Chief Executive Officer of TheLadders, the premier online job-matching service for career-driven professionals, where he is responsible for the company strategy, global business operations, and product development.  He co-founded the company in 2003 with Marc Cenedella and Andrew Koch, and grew the member base to more than 6 million since inception.  Alex is based in the New York headquarters.

Under Alex’s leadership, the company has seized the mobile disruption with its native mobile app that eliminates the need for keyword searches and, instead, delivers tailored job matches based upon members’ profiles, expertise, and desired career moves. Developed with a feature-lean approach, TheLadders’ app, “Job Search by TheLadders,” available for free on the App Store and Google Play, provides an unprecedented way to identify job matches on-the-go, discover new job opportunities, and retrieve information on the competition via TheLadders Scout. With this proprietary, competitive-analysis tool, job seekers on TheLadders are able to assess their competition for a job -- before they even apply -- via a snapshot of other professionals who already have applied to the job-listing of interest.

As Executive Vice President from 2003 to 2008, Alex drove job search by launching the executive resume service, growing TheLadders’ subscription base from zero to more than 2 million members.  Additionally, Alex has authored An Investigation of Pay per Click Search Engine Advertising: Modeling the PPC Paradigm to Lower Cost per Action.  Before TheLadders, Alex was Director of Online Marketing at HotJobs, as well as Manager of Marketing Planning and Analysis for BMG Direct.

Alex holds an MBA in general management from INSEAD, an MS in direct marketing from New York University, and a BS in business administration from the University of Lyon III in France.  During his NYU studies, he received the prestigious Lester Wunderman Award, which recognizes creative leadership, marketing innovation, and online excellence. A competitive athlete, Alex finished the 2012 Ironman U.S. Championship in 12 hours, 12 minutes and 21 seconds.
